The mission of the Daniel Island School PTA is to organize efforts to support, enrich, and connect the DIS students, teachers, administration and community for the benefit of the overall educational experience.
Spirit Committee: Show your DIS pride! Sell spirit wear at PTA events or distribute free DIS swag after school on the 1st Friday of the month “Spirit First Fridays”. Sign up with a friend!
School Mascot: Have you dreamed of wearing a big fuzzy Osprey costume and making kids dreams come true at special school events or sporting events? If so, the job is yours! 1 event minimum. You’ll be rewarded.
Fundraising Committee: Work with VP fundraising to execute restaurant nights, grocery store kickbacks, school supply boxes, box tops, gift card donations and other fundraising efforts benefitting our students and teachers.
Wellness Committee: Work with VP of Wellness to execute school-wide wellness initiatives and events including farmers markets, bike safety, and earth day. Help communicate student participation in the WOW Us With Wellness Challenge. Must love health and wellness!
K-5 Events Committee: Work with VP of Programs and elementary parents to execute family bingo night (Sep), sweetheart social (Feb), and march math madness stem event. Sign up with a friend!
Middle School Events Committee: Work with MS parents to plan and execute NEW and FUN social events for 6th, 7th, 8th grade including Middle School Dance, 8th Grade Class Party, and STEM event. Let’s make Middle School rock!
School-wide Events Committees: Work with VP of Programs and parents from all grades to create fabulous DIS community events that strengthen the bonds between our school, students and families including Holiday Luminary Event (December) and Parents Spring Social (May). Give as little or as much time as you can!
Marketing/Creative team: Calling all artsy types: create print and digital PTA flyers for marketing events and announcements in weekly e-newsletter, folders, and Facebook group.
Website Administrator: Manage website updates throughout school year. No knowledge of coding needed, just your time!
STEP 2: Volunteers are required to register with Berkeley County School District every year, even if you have volunteered previously. Click here to register with the District so they may complete a background check. It only takes a minute.
